CILIP is inviting researchers to undertake a gap analysis and consultation with sector experts to create a comprehensive review of training provision for leadership in the public library workforce in England.
CILIP is looking for researchers to submit a proposal to conduct a landscape review of existing training provisions in leadership for the public library workforce in England.
This research forms part of the Horizon scanning report ‘Come Rain or Shine’ that presents Digital Access and Futures Literacy as two key areas of development
relevant to the public library workforce.
The research will include:
- Conducting a gap analysis and highlighting areas for future training provision, potential delivery and comms partners
- Consultations with sector experts - including Libraries Connected, English Public Libraries Group, British Library Living Knowledge Network, Local Government Association and others - to scope out the audience, structure,
content and costing model (if applicable) for the training programme and suggested performance measures to assess the impact of the training.
The landscape review will inform the next phase of the project in which CILIP will commission a specialist learning provider to develop two online training modules on Digital Access and Futures Literacy. This project is
funded by Arts Council England.
- Indicative contract fee: £18,500 inclusive of VAT
